Like many of us, I was frustrated with the proposed Pay & Display in Albany.

I decided to get more involved in the process (something I normally don’t feel compelled to do). I went to the consultation meeting and filled out Auckland Transports feedback form, but I felt Auckland Transport weren’t listening and their survey questions were biased.

So I set up my own survey where I hope to understand why people drive to work, the obstacles to using public transport, highlight carpooling opportunities and explore how Albany can be improved

What do you like about Albany?

“Not too much at the moment! 10 years ago it had so much potential for being a modern city hub with greenspace but it now feels like a hacked together area with no thought – point in case – who let a massive mail depot (with so much truck traffic) get built in the business zone?”Grant

What would you like to see more of in Albany?

“Public parks with walking, mountain bike & running tracks for fitness. Many of the existing parks have in adequate parking i.e. Albany Village & Gills Reserve.”Suzie
