Albany
This website was formed out of frustration for not being able to envision the future of Albany. Currently there is a disparity between what you can see (green undeveloped fields) and what the bustling Albany future city looks like. I hope this website can be a central point for what is currently planned for Albany and what I imagine it could be. I hope to gather ideas of what a future Albany can look like from the people who use it.

Albany Lake
There are already great sections of Albany that are worth expanding on. Currently there are beautiful sections of cycleways and walkways around the perimeter of Albany. Albany Lake and Hooton Reserve also provide refuge from the busy roads.

Cars Vs People
Albany is spread out with a fast moving ring road which is difficult to cross for pedestrians and unsafe for cyclists to use.

Park & Ride
Albany Park and Ride has been built on the outskirts of Albany where it makes pedestrian access difficult for the Stadium, University, Businesses & Shopping Centre.
Inspiration
Pay & Display
Auckland Transport are proposing road side pay and display parking on streets around Albany Metropolitan Centre. $1 per hour between 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday. This would improve availability and prevent illegal parking. In addition, the restrictions will encourage motorists to consider other transport options, such as walking, cycling, using public transport, or carpooling.
